All That Jazz? More like She's okay...

I found this sketch I wrote 4 yrs ago. Hey it’s alright….

Charades, Schmades

Premise: Two teams are playing Charades. 1 team is just beyond belief good. The others are probably the worst players of Charades ever. One of the members of the losing team gets fed up and eventually has a breakdown.

Team 1: Shirley and Amy

Team 2: Mark and Molly

INT. LIVING ROOM

Shirley, Amy and Mark are sitting around a card table the Charades board game sits on the table. Molly is in the middle of acting out the clue for Mark. Molly begins making weird movements similar to a gorilla and doing weird crazy eye movements

MARK

(Confused)

Gorilla? Monkeys? Crazy Gorilla Monkeys?

Molly rolls her eyes shakes her head and begins again she starts waving and acting like she is reading something and smoking.

MARK 

(Confused and slightly annoyed)

What are you doing? Smoking? Waving? And monkeyswhat does it sound like give me something!

A buzzer is heard and Molly stops and plops down on the chair. Mark looks annoyed.

AMY

Sorry guys times up. That looked like a hard one.

MARK

Yes please tell me what enlightening movie that was suppose to be?

MOLLY

Citizen Kane

MARK

Really what was that gorilla thing you were doing?

MOLLY

Orson Welles he was big hefty.

SHIRLEY

Oh yeah I got that but I was blanking on the name of the movie.

MARK

(Rolls eyes)

He wasnt big in that moviejustnever mind Amy its your turn pick a card

AMY

Movies is one of the topics we havent won at yet Ill try that one

MARK

(Sarcastically)

whoopee!

Molly shoots Mark a dirty look. Amy picks a card. Molly turns on the timer. Mark rolls his eyes looking annoyed. Amy holds up 8 fingers.

SHIRLEY

8 words?

Amy nods puts up 1 finger and begins to do the universal charades symbol for sounds like. She takes a bow.

SHIRLEY

Bow? Cow? Wow? How?

Amy puts her finger to her nose and smiles

SHIRLEY

How to lose a guy in ten days?

AMY

(Excited)

Yes!

Amy and Shirley jump up give each other high fives and do a hip bump

MARK

That is impossible you really got all that from sounds like bow? Are you guys cheating?

MOLLY

Mark calm down of course they arent cheating come on its your turn well get this one Im positive, its TV shows.

AMY

Yeah Mark Shirley is just a really good guesser it is only a game

MARK

Great guesser more like freaking clairvoyant, Hey Shirley do you know when Ill win the lotto.

SHIRLEY

Oh Mark you are silly its just a game. Dont be a sore loser.

MARK

Those madams are fighting words. Hey Molly hello pay attention so we can at least get this one

MOLLY

Okay whatever. Pick a card already

Mark standS up picks a card looks at it and smirks

MARK

This is easy you are so going to get this one

AMY

Shhh…no talking

Mark rolls his eyes. Shirley turns on the timer. Mark puts up 2 fingers. Then one finger. He begins to smile a big grin he keeps pointing to it with both hands

MOLLY

Hmmm Smiling? Big teeth? A Dentist, show about a dentist? I got it Bob Newhart

Molly stands up like she got it her smile fades. Mark gives a bewildered look rolls eyes and shakes head no repeatedly. She sits down slowly. He begins to act out dancing but more like 1 finger in the air jaunty old timey dancing.

MOLLY

(Confused)

Dancing. The 20s? Flappers? Wait what show has flappers in it?

Frustrated Mark starts to do thumbs up signs one hand at a time.

MOLLY

Siskel and Ebert?…. Umm that new guy and Ebert? What the hell is it?

Marks frustration has turned to anger. He bangs on the wall with his fist sideways and acts like he is listening and then begins to do old timey dance. He bangs the wall repeatedly.

MOLLY

What are you doing? Beating the wall? Huh?

Mark getting angrier begins to act like he is riding a mortcyle and goes back to the thumbs up movement. Buzzer sounds.

AMY

Times up guys.

MARK

(Ranting)

I cant believe you Molly. We are twins where are our wonder twins psychic abilities! It was Happy Days! Happy Days! Your favorite show as a kid! Hello Fonzie with his hey! Mortcyle. Turning on the jukebox what is wrong with you

MOLLY

What is wrong with me you cant even act out Fonzie everybody knows its Hey!

She does the correct fonzie thumb sign.

MOLLY

(CONT)

And whoever said Happy Days was set in the 1920s what the hell was this!

She acts out the old timey dance moves.

MARK

Oh really like you are any better Ms. Acting out gorillas for Citizen Kane yep that is totally guessable.

SHIRLEY

Well I guessed it.

MARK

Well arent you just perfect, Shirley!

MOLLY

 Leave her alone you suck at games face it you always have then you get all crazy about it! Dont make me mention the time we went on Win lose or draw as kids.

MARK

You always gotta go there huh?

AMY

You guys were on win lose or draw?

MOLLY

Yes we were suppose to but after crazo here destroyed the easle and kicked Burt Reynolds in the shins oh then spit on Dom DeLuise. We had to sign these papers and got escorted off the lot.

MARK

I didn’t spit on om I shoved a pizza in his face but seriously who draws a banana for ET? Does ET look like a banana I dont think so!

MOLLY

We are still banned from the Warner bros studio and it wasnt a banana it was ET?

MARK

Okay whatever you say. I dont even know how we can be twins!

MOLLY

That is  because we aren’t!

MARK

(Confused, slightly distraught)

What?

MOLLY

You were adopted mom and dad never wanted to tell you. Your mom was some teenage whore or something I dont know go ask them

MARK

Why? How? I dont understand

Amy and Shirley look uncomfortable having witnessed this very awkward family secret revealed they get up to leave. Mark plops down on a chair depressed.

AMY

Umm…. I guess thanks we had a really… umm…yep we gotta go

MOLLY

No dont go we were having fun come on we can play scrabble?

Amy and Shirley look at Mark look at Molly then look at each other. They begin to back peddle out of the room.

SHIRLEY

No I think well pass

Molly turns to Mark who is now crying.

MOLLY

Thanks a lot Mark you always have to ruin everything!

Molly walks out of the room.
